Retratos: 2,000 Years of Latin American Portraits

VIP Reception at the Bass Museum of Art

MIAMI BEACH, FL (July 22, 2005) - Over 500 people attended the VIP reception for the Bass Museum's highly anticipated blockbuster exhibition Retratos: 2,000 Years of Latin American Portraits on July 21st. A Latin American theme prevailed in the decor, delicious refreshments were served and lively music was enjoyed in the Bass café and terrace throughout the evening. Guests viewed the remarkable exhibition in the new wing's upstairs galleries which were filled with more than 100 objects from 15 countries. Diane Camber, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Bass Museum of Art, welcomed Friends of the Bass Museum Members, government officials from throughout Miami-Dade County and many diplomats from the Latin American countries who were on-hand to celebrate the occasion. Ms. Camber expressed her gratitude to Ford Motor Fund for sponsoring the exhibition, reception and extensive educational and outreach programs the Museum is providing throughout the exhibition.
